Dialogue Forum Erwitte

More than 50 citizens visited the planning forum, which took place on the 10th of December as part of the citizens' dialogue on the bypass for B1 and B55. In Erwitte, the two federal roads meet, so that approx. 26,000 motor vehicles per day (more than 14% are heavy traffic) drove through the town and the existing junction of the B1 with the B55 and the railway. The high traffic volume must be reduced urgently, from both health and economic points of view. The planning is very callening, as it is carried out with active consideration of the environment and public interests by using new technologies to map a wide range of variants.

It is not yet clear where the preferred route will run. The possible corridors for the Erwitte bypass are being determined by DEGES as the project sponsor on behalf of the Ministry of Transport of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia using KorFin® technology. Together with leading experts such as FROELICH & SPORBECK and Ingenieurgruppe IVV, A+S is participating in this project as a specialist consultant for traffic infrastructure planning according to BIM and for visualization. The IKU-DIE DIALOGGESTALTER professionally support the citizen dialogue with communication strategies and provide the necessary transparency and organization.

Our head of the Street Department, Rico Schönfeld, was on site at the planning forum to answer the questions of the participants. In particular, the current residents of the main traffic routes took the floor. They are not only interested in a fundamental improvement with a bypass, but also in measures that will serve to reduce noise and increase traffic quality and safety in the coming years.
