4th noise pollution abatement symposium in Berlin

On the 1st and 2nd of June, the 4th symposium of the VDEI (union of railway engineers) on the topic of noise pollution abatement took place. On the basis of the increasing sensitization of the public to this topic and the declared goal of the German Railway and Federal Government to reduce rail noise by 2020 up to half in comparison to 2008, leading experts who play a decisive role in the development of the railway infrastructure met at the symposium to work in common towards this goal.

The presentations covered current research results as well as real-world experience. At the same time, new technologies in the fields of noise avoidance and noise pollution abatement were presented in an exhibition area.

A+S deals with the topic of noise pollution abatement in two regards: first, it presents data from noise calculations graphically in order to enable the recognition of critical areas, as well as the possibilities for noise reduction. On the other hand, A+S has been developing its own software module for a while, which will make it possible to estimate the expected noise level of planning measures.
