International Transport Forum in Tbilisi

On the 28th of September, 2016, A+S took part in the first International Transport Forum in Tbilisi.

The event was ceremoniously opened by the mayor of the Georgian capital, Dr. David Narmania. In his greeting, he emphasized the importance of the transfer of know-how in the field of traffic planning in the successful development of the transport systems on the national and regional levels.

Among the numerous visitors to the forum were representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, and delegates from the city administration and the City Council of Tbilisi. Local companies, as well as international companies from Germany, France, Great Britain and Ukraine, gave presentations in the fields of road and transport planning, sustainable urban development, and modern mobility solutions.

The forum was organized by the City Institute Georgia with the active support of A+S. The goal of the forum was to define the most important challenges and perspectives in Georgia's transport sector, as well as to present approaches to successful development with the utilization of international experience.

A+S reported on the topics of 3D planning for roads and rail, ITS solutions, and the development of the national traffic model. Subsequently, there was an animated discussion with numerous questions from the forum participants.

A+S wants to thank the mayor of Tbilisi, Dr. David Namania, as well as the managing director of the City Institute Georgia, Professor Mamuka Salukvadze, for the invitation to the forum and its excellent organization!
