Major project for the extension and new construction of the Karlsruhe - Basel line

The expansion and new construction of the Karlsruhe - Basel line is a major project of enormous importance for rail transport in the region. The expansion of the line and the modernization of the signaling technology are of great importance for safe and efficient train travel. As part of this project, extensive conversion work was also carried out at Basel Badischer Bahnhof station in order to meet the requirements of modern signaling technology.

The successful signal safety calculation for a construction stage of the conversion of Basel Badischer Bahnhof to modern signal technology was an important milestone in the realization of this major project. Together with planners from DB Engineering & Consulting, the modeling of signals and platforms with their roofs as well as the overhead line system with masts and cantilevers was carried out. It was particularly important to take safety aspects into account in order to ensure safe train travel on the line.
