New transport project: Sustainable Urban Mobility in Georgia

Together with GOPA Infra GmbH (Lead), ILF Consulting Engineers Austria GmbH, Austrian Institute of Technology GmbH (AIT), A+S Consult GmbH is working on behalf of the Transport and Urban Development Agency of Tbilisi Municipality on the sustainable improvement of the transport infrastructure.
Another important objective of the project is to increase the efficiency of public transport. By introducing modern technologies and intelligent traffic management systems, the flow of traffic can be optimized, resulting in shorter travel times, less congestion and an overall smoother transport experience. This not only helps to reduce emissions, but also to improve overall mobility in urban areas.
Another important aspect is increasing the safety of women and girls in the transport sector. They are often exposed to an increased risk of harassment and assault. The project therefore aims to create a safe and secure environment for all female road users.
In addition to increasing efficiency and safety, the project places great emphasis on raising awareness of sustainable transport solutions. The transport sector is one of the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change. It is therefore crucial to promote the switch to more environmentally friendly transport options. By raising public awareness of sustainable transport solutions, behavioral changes can be encouraged that lead to a reduction in the environmental impact of transport.
The objectives of the project are therefore manifold. By implementing these objectives, the project can have a positive impact on people's quality of life by contributing to better mobility, a safer transport environment and a more sustainable transport system.
On May 4, 2023, Prof. Dr. Ashraf H. HAMED and Pavlo Shevchenko participated in the kick-off meeting from our side.
We are looking forward to the new challenge!
